At COP19, we officially launched our Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) conference program, creating a forum to empower decision-makers in developing and transitioning economies to define the best strategies and practices for the successful implementation of PPPs in the sustainable electricity sector.

To mark this launch, we organized a roundtable discussion on strategies for successful PPPs. The event included key players in the field such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the African Development Bank, The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the World Energy Council (WEC). The event was held on November 19, 2013.

Our PPP conference program is one of our concrete commitments in support of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon’s Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative. The program was initially developed with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) International PPP Center of Excellence and has now become the GSEP’s flagship conference program to create a bottom-up approach to sustainable electricity development.
